Limiting beliefs often form from our past experiences. When something happened to us in the past, we made it something and then we continually carry this meaning with us until it molds into beliefs we have about ourselves.
There are two types of trauma that can lead to subconscious limiting beliefs:
Big "T" traumas are significant traumatic events that are typically more severe, life-threatening, or overwhelming in nature, such as combat experiences, sexual assault, natural disaster, major accidents, violent crimes, etc.
Little "t" traumas are less severe or more chronic traumatic experiences that may not involve a direct threat to life, but still have a lasting impact on mental and emotional well-being, such as emotional neglect, verbal abuse, bullying, divorce, family dysfunction, and other various chronic stressors.
